Heather Health Care Center’s Behavioral Health Program developed out of the acute need for alternative treatment programs for people with cognitive impairments and chronic mental illness.
The Behavioral Health Program at Heather Health Care Center features individualized, structured programming, including group and one-on-one counseling, relapse prevention, crisis intervention and a token economy reinforcement system. Programming is tailored to residents’ unique needs and issues, and is designed to mitigate behaviors, confusion and disorientation. Services are provided 24 hours a day in an environment that is home-like, secure and familiar to individuals who need psychiatric rehabilitation.
The goal is to rehabilitate, increase independence and self-esteem and reintegrate back into the community.
Highly Skilled Staff
The Heather Health Care Center team includes a full complement of mental health professionals, including master-level clinicians and bachelor-degreed case managers with crisis management training. A board-certified psychiatrist is on-call 24 hours a day for consultation and treatment. The psychiatrist performs a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation upon admission and meets regularly with residents to oversee their progress.
